§  University of California San Francisco Medical Center. Consulted on governance and other organizational issues; advised on client vendor selection process for third party clinical content vendor and collaborated on design and implementation team planning and implementation. (2010)

§  Cedars Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles). Analyzed all aspects of client’s current state orders management & medication management processes. Collaborated with team of 13 clinicians and IT staff to design training curriculum for smooth transition from current paper processes to hybrid electronic/paper (pMAR) medication administration process. (2009)

§  Harrison Medical Center (Bremerton WA). Project managed orders build in Eclipsys for multi-facility community health service provider (250-bed hospital, 40-bed hospital, as well as numerous primary care and specialty clinics). Gathered, analyzed and interpreted clinical workflows as input to system design and implementation. Managed small build team for complex enterprise orders build. Built orders and order sets and customized third-party clinical content (Zynx and CPMRC) solutions to EMR design and user workflows. Provided post-implementation support for clinical staff. Collaborated in design and implementation of comprehensive training plan for clinical staff. Facilitated processes for CPOE design and implementation. (2009)

§  Froedtert Cancer Center (Milwaukee WI). Supported Epic deployment in new, state-of-the–art cancer treatment facility. Instructed physicians, nursing staff and flow staff. Reviewed EMR documentation for validity/completeness, issued regular reports to implementation team and made on-the-fly configuration changes to support efficient clinical workflow. (2008)

§  North Memorial Medical Center (Minneapolis MN). Supported 6 hospital departments during 10 day Epic deployment. Analyzed processes/toolsets for departments and individual clinicians and instructed novice users in best practices for EMR documentation and ordering. (2008)

§  Exempla Healthcare (Denver CO). Project managed clinical documentation team through design and technical build for multi-hospital system. Mentored new Exempla manager in team lead role. Collaborated on Orders Build team.  Extensive hands on build/configuration of clinical documentation tools. (2008)

§  Edmonton Capital Region Health (Edmonton Canada). Conducted facilitated design sessions prior to Epic’s first Canadian implementation. Wrote customized implementation training manual used by 300+ regional clinics and small physician practices. Assisted PMO in planning and reporting on project activities. Consulted with project team on best practices for implementation. (2007)

§  Christiana Healthcare (Wilmington DE). Consulted on current state clinical processes/workflows and conducted design workgroup sessions with IT, business and clinical staff. Collaborated with other project team members on process design for patient access (registration and billing) and small physician practices. Supported two-day enterprise-wide facilitated design sessions. (2007)

§  Stanford Medical Center (Palo Alto CA). Reviewed/analyzed current state clinical processes in both ambulatory and inpatient settings, and conducted design workgroup sessions with Stanford staff. Collaborated on process design for patient access (registration and billing) and case management. Supported two-day enterprise-wide facilitated design sessions. (2006)

§  Kaiser Permanente (Oakland CA). Championed the implementation of HealthConnect (Kaiser’s Epic Inpatient and Epic Ambulatory) applications. Built/modified/customized patient profiles, orders and order sets, and clinical documentation tools for training. Conducted day-long presentations and customized hands-on immersion experiences for physicians, middle management and IT personnel. Co-authored web-based curriculum and wrote scripted training scenarios for specialty nursing staff. (2005)

§  Group Health Cooperative (Seattle WA). Conducted Epic implementation and served as single point of contact for EMR optimization in three GHC primary care clinics and six specialty clinics. Configured/build Epic Smart Tools/Preference Lists for physicians and other staff. Coached providers and staff building their own custom Smart Tools. Co-led team of eight clinical informatics specialists; trained and supported clinical staff and authored customized Epic curriculum for new staff. (2000-2005)
